What's Meetup?

Maybe it's time for a little less face-to-screen and a little more face-to-face.

Meetup Groups are today's support groups, parent playgroups, citizen groups, fitness groups, book clubs, professional groups, and other powerful local groups!

About The New York City Foreign Service Meetup Group

We meet, usually in coffee shops in NYC, to discuss the exam, hold study sessions, and share advice. People who take the Foreign Service Written Exam are a diverse group: some are Americans who have spent some time abroad or know someone who has, naturalized Americans who came from abroad, or US citizens who have studied politics, government, and/or foreign languages in some capacity. Many have taken similar tests such as the UN entrance exam or the European Parliament entry exam. All have an interest in the rest of the world. Those of us who have taken the test before are encouraged to advise others who have not yet taken the exam. Some of us may bring books/journal articles which cover topics addressed by the exam such as economics or US government, or study guides. Most monthly meetups and study session meetings are currently scheduled for weekends, but if there is enough demand, I will look into scheduling some study hours during the week. I just happened along a small group without an organizer, took the throne, and voila...
